Some 60 percent of healthcare facilities in Tanzania lack adequate WASH services.

To address this problem, WEFTA volunteers collaborate with an organization known as “SAWA” (Sanitation and Water Action) in Tanzania’s rural and disadvantaged communities. The partners work together to improve WASH services and to implement a circuit rider program in these communities. Circuit riders with engineering expertise travel to completed project sites to help ensure post-construction operation, maintenance, and management of water and wastewater systems.
