In addition to the problems of poverty, crime, and violence, 16% of poor rural Hondurans lack access to a basic water source, while 25 percent lack access to improved sanitation. With the assistance of in-country circuit riders, WEFTA volunteers identify critical water and sanitation projects, including the construction of sanitary modules, comprising a bathroom, shower, and wash station.
